Il bel paese??????


So I haven’t had as much time as I thought I would to be able to include all my recipes but as I try to scroll through my feed to pick some of my favourite ones, it becomes evident to me that I love all of the food I make.

I’ll try to add to the different categories as I build so that the site will be more useful for those who wish to use the ‘search’ function. In the meantime, I would love to know what you would like to see…leave your ideas in the comment section below ??????
An update on my trip… I’m trying to stick to my diet while at the same time trying a small portion of everything which means wheat (pizza and pasta) and dairy (mozzarella and cappuccinos). I haven’t bee feeling well these first few days but I don’t know if that’s attributed to eating these foods or the stomach bug I picked up before boarding the plane or even the extreme heat. In any event, I will soon find out. 

I did get to visit the grocery store and found some of my favourite foods. They had chia seeds, quinoa, almond milk and avocados. I even picked up some kamut pasta for the days I can’t resist. Wheat cravings are strange in that the more your body has it, the more your body wants it. I suggest if you ever try to quit eating wheat, do it gradually. I also found a lot of amazing tasting fruit and vegetables at the grocery store (note to anyone travelling to Italy, it’s peach season right now and the giallone variety is equal to, if not better than our baby gold version. 
So I didn’t want to miss out my family’s morning cappuccinos and chocolate cornetti (croissant) so I had breakfast with the fam and saved the chia seed and peach pudding for lunch time. It’s all about the compromise ? 

As far as exercise, I did find a place to run along the river. I went really early in the morning (at sunrise) as it gets hot quickly. It’s been hard since we stay out till late (jet lag) and have to get up so early but I’m not complaining. I’m just enjoying being away from all the craziness and things you have to do when you’re at home. 

Again, I look forward to hearing your feedback about what recipes you want on the site: quick meal prep, healthy eating, lunch ideas, dinner, entertaining, fish, protein, meat, pasta etc.
